About this site

This site contains, or will contain, many of the outputs from the HearCom project (many areas are currently under construction).

The HearCom project is working on the development of a wide range of services and technologies that aim to break down many of the barriers within today’s communication society that are faced by deaf, hard of hearing and second language users.

This project (004171 HEARCOM) is an Information Society Technologies (IST) project supported by grants from the European Union FP6.

The ‘main site’ section will contain information and advice, hearing screening tests and a rehabilitation service that will support new and future wearers of hearing devices. This site is currently underdevelopment so do come back in the future when more content will be available.

The Professionals area contains details of both work in progress, and project outputs, that should be of interest to a wide variety of different professionals, from audiologists, doctors, website developers and architects.

If you visit the About the Project page, you will find information about the work that is occurring as part of this project.
